UNITING THE TWIC PEOPLE

United in Heritage, United in Purpose

The Twic Federation brings together the Twic people across all regions to strengthen our bonds, preserve our culture, and work together for the wellbeing of our communities everywhere.

WHO WE ARE

A Cultural Federation of the Twic People

The Twic Federation is a cultural and social organization that brings together the Twic people under our shared Dinka heritage. For generations, we have recognized our common ancestry, upheld our traditions, and maintained respect for one another across different regions. Our people have deep roots in the pastoral and agricultural ways of South Sudan, with our own language, oral traditions, cattle herding practices, and strong family bonds.

Established in 2026, the Federation serves as a practical way to strengthen our social connections, preserve our cultural practices, and create cooperation between our communities at home and our people in the diaspora. We bring together individuals and communities from Twic East in Jonglei State, Twic in Warrap State, and Twic communities across East Africa, North America, Australia, Europe, and other parts of the world.

The Federation operates through voluntary participation, transparent leadership, and respect for our traditional elders and leaders. We work to preserve our culture, build peace through dialogue, support our communities in times of need, and maintain connections between those at home and those in the diaspora. We believe that our cultural identity and community bonds are living forces that will shape a stronger future for all Twic people.

We are not a political or government body. We are a community-led organization committed to the wellbeing and dignity of the Twic people wherever they live. Our strength comes from our unity, our commitment to dialogue, and our shared vision of a Twic community that is united in heritage and united in purpose.
